These are legit the BEST chicken wings. I have not come across 1 person who is not obsessed with these wings! Every time I make it, someone always asks me for the recipe. It is always a hit at BBQ's. My kid's friends request for it when they come over! Give it a try and I guarantee you will be mind blown!

Ingredients:

  • Approx. 3 lbs of chicken wings/drumettes

  • ½ cup soy sauce

  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1½ tbsp sand ginger powder (I know this is hard to find sometimes so here is a pic of the bag for reference- I also know this bag says ginger powder but do NOT be fooled! it is NOT ginger powder. Follow the Chinese characters to get the proper sand ginger powder)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Directions:

If you buy chicken wings with the drumette attached, make sure you separate it from the wing.

Add all your ingredients together in a large bowl with the chicken wings/drumettes, mix well and let it marinade for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.

This is a great make ahead marinade and can be easily frozen too. You can put your chicken and marinade into a large Ziploc bag and put it immediately in the freezer, and then you can defrost and make these chicken wings any time. These chicken wings can either be barbecued, roasted, baked or air fried. Cooking time will depend on your chicken wings. Usually it can take about 20-30 minutes depending on which method.

Bake @ 400°F or air fry at your highest setting.
